You enter the door enscribed SWEETIE and reveal a courtyard. Circling the courtyard you see a small army of gargoyles lovingly carved in the image of a dog.
This is a picture from April 2024, soon after we adopted Sweetie. She was about 8 months old but looks extra little in this photo I can imagine what she looked like as a real small puppy. :-)
She used to sit like this more often. I've heard it's called splooting but I wish it could be called something cuter. Apparently it's something that younger dogs do a lot or dogs in general if they're too hot. It's winter time now so maybe it'll happen more next summer. Now a days she likes to crawl under the covers.
Another picture from the early days. You can see the blonde streak on her muzzle, which eventually faded into brown.
She's not a huge fan of bathtime but since she sleeps in the bed with us I like to make sure she gets a full scrub down every couple of weeks. I make it pretty comfy for her and she let's it happen. Easier than trying to trim her nails. I tried to blow dry her once but that went badly, so air dry it is. When she's all done she runs around the house and howls (presumabley overjoyed that the ordeal is over) and shakes off. Her hair gets all spikey.
Sweetie is REALLY not a fan of car rides. She throws up pretty much every time. A total drool factory. When I was a droolie baby my mom would call me Laway girl (laway is drool in Tagalog and one of the only words I know in the language aside from throw up). Now she's my Laway girl! It's become such a problem along with her seperation anxiety that the vet prescribed her Prozac in November 2024. Welcome to the wonderful world of SSRI's little doggy!
